  • Hello you all!!! You don't know me, but I know a family in Children's Hospital that has a child going throught some of the same things as Katie. He is now 20 months old and just started round three of chemo. I hope the best for you little girl. Some people ask, why does this happen to little kids, I don't know and no one knows...but it is amazing how strong these little kids can be through it all. It shows us that we shouldn't worry about little things and fuss over them...because little kids don't fuss when they are faced with a life-threatening illness. I will pray for your daughter now as she finishes up some of her treatments and I hope that she has a leukemia free next couple of years and life. God Bless your Little Girl!!!

    Brenda

  • Focus on the Family is airing a wonderful radio series on childhood cancer. You can hear it on the following site: www.oneplace.com/ministries/focus_on_the_family/ If you go to Broadcast Archives, it is "Hope in the Midst of Childhood Cancer." It is a three part series.

  • Well, here it is Monday morning, I'm at work and missing Katie and Tyler already. It is SUCH a joy to have them at the house (you, too of course). I don't know what I'll do when you have to go back to GI. I love coming home to that little smiling face and those arms reaching up for me...to go "cook." That is Katie's favorite thing to do, sit on the counter and cook with Aunt Colleen, and sing, and play, and do laundry, and brush our teeth, and file our nails, etc., etc. What will I do without my shadow? I don't want to think about it.

I know everyone is anxious for you to get home so they can enjoy our angel again, too. I thank God for blessing my family with your presence during this difficult time in your life and I want you to know you will always have a place to stay whenever you need it!

    Love, Aunt Colleen

  • JUST LETTING YOU KNOW THAT WE CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR YOU AND THINK ABOUT ALL OF YOU ALL THE TIME. I CHECK YOUR UPDATES DAILY AND HOPEFULLY SOON YOU WILL BE BRINGING KAITLYN HOME.CANT WAIT TO SEE YOU.

  • Hey Scott and Wendy, I just wanted to let you know that Kim and I are always praying for you guys and Kaitlyn. Thanks for sending me the updates almost every day with Katies progress and also the downfalls, I cannot even begin to imagine how hard it must be for you guys, and sometimes a hassle to send me an email everyday with the updates. Thank the Lord that little Kaitlyn is in our presence being a leader for those that will fall with the same or similar illness. Thanks for finding Sam and Sherri while they were there with Aiden, I am sure it helps to have people you know and love around you in the difficult times for both your family  and Sams. As much work as it seems to be at times to update the prayers and the updates on the site, I am very glad that we put it together, the number of people that check it daily is just amazing, I would have never imagined that we would pull up to and over 300 hits a day on the site. Please know that a lot of people are checking and praying everyday and love you guys and can't wait for you to get back to "your" house and "your" lives, living it the way the Lord has intended for you. Please know that as long as it is possible, this website will be available for you, and I will continue to do my best to get it updated whenever necessary.  (Since I am in charge of the website I can generally put things on it wherever and whenever I want, so I want to put this on for you guys. It reminds of what I know about my father, he carried his cross-in-his-pocket and loved the serenity prayer and Footprints... "GOD GRANT ME THE SERENITY TO ACCEPT THE THINGS I CANNOT CHANGE, COURAGE TO CHANGE THE THINGS I CAN, AND WISDOM TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE"

  • Hi Scott & Wendy- Boy, our God is so AMAZING!! I was at a "Children's Pastor's Conference" in Anaheim, California this week and one of the classes I took was taught by a wonderful, Godly man, named Roger Theimer. As God would have it, he is the children's pastor to 1300 kids at the King of King's Church in Omaha! I had marked 4 classes I wanted to take during that session and at the last minute decided on his!!! Not only was I immensely blessed by him for my ministry, but I was also able to share Kaitlyn's story with him. He will be contacting you to see how he can support you as well. I know you will be blessed, as I was, by his caring and concern for children, especially Katie. Please share Aiden's story with them also so that he may be added to their prayer chain. I love you guys very much and continue to pray for you daily! Love you lots! Aunt Diana
