  • Dear Wendy, Scott, Tyler and Katie, I am continually lifting you in prayer to our gracious, glorious Lord and am praying for His will for all your lives. Every day that Katie is here is a gift, a treasure. I pray that you will be filled with God's love and peace and that He will grant you all the strength and courage you need during this difficult time. Take care of each other and know that you are in the hearts and minds of thousands. Love, Annette (Kiffin's Mom's friend)

  • Hi Scott and Wendy! Just a quick note to let you know I am thinking about you and praying for you. Just remember that Jesus holds Katie in His precious hands. Feel His presence when you hold her and know that He is loving you through this as well. When you have difficult days...and it seems like you just can't go on...refer to Phil. 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." I know that in the most difficult moments of my life, that verse has given me comfort and strength...let Christ sustain you through this. Love and prayers, Aunt Diana

  • Today was Katie's fundraiser and all I have to say is "WOW" what a huge success we had. Over 600 people came and we raised close to $9000. I want to thank all of you who were a part of this success and made this happen. I feel very blessed to be a part of such special people's lives. I have gained so many new friends and people I can call family. Thanks to the Grand Island community for all their support, I feel very proud to be a part of this community. Everyone's support, love & prayers has definitely changed my whole perspective on life and given it new meaning. Words cannot express how grateful I am for all of you who have done so much for Katie and our family.
You are all truly special!! This is not the end of our support for Katie girl. There is still the Kaitlyn Cameron recovery fund set up at Heritage bank for anyone to donate. Everyone please not only think about Katie but leukemia in general, I hope this has raised awareness for leukemia as well.
Think about donating blood because you never know when it might be your child who needs it. Love and appreciate your family & friends because you never know! Anyway, thank you again to anyone who had any part of this fundraiser, it took us all to make it the success it was. Wendy, Scott and Katie we love you with all our heart. Be strong and continue to pray. Miss you lots. Love Tricia

  • First and foremost, I would like to personally thank all of the hard work and dedication that was put forth for Katies fundraiser. I sincerely appreciate everyone that basically stopped your own lives to make this possible. There was so much to be done in such little time and it was Awesome. There is no one person that is deserving more than another. Everyone had their part and done an excellent job. So thank you all that helped and played a huge roll in Scott, Wendy,Tyler, and Katies life. I also would like to thank the public for coming down and helping this great cause. We are so thankful for having such a great community to show support like you all have. And most of all, THANK YOU to all of the businesses that donated and welcomed this family into your hearts. There is no way this event would of been possible without your generous hearts. So Thank you once again for everyones support. Oh yea, Thank You to News Channel 5 for giving me my 10 seconds of fame. I'm available for T.V. time, whenever you might need a fill-in. Scott, Wendy, and most importantly Katie, we all miss and love you, and we'll get through this together, no matter how long it takes we are here for you. Love, Uncle Brian

  • Scott & Wendy, Just a note to let you know we're thinking about you. I'm home now and have worked out a time when Teresa and I can get together to pray for Katie to thank God for the miracle we are witnessing. I know that many times a day I'm thinking and praying for Katie as Teresa does. But we thought it important to find time to pray together and stand on our faith and belief in total recovery for Katie through Gods healing hands. I saw the fund raiser on the web. What a great community you live in. In my book, Jeremy is #1. Please hug and kiss Katie for us. We Love You Scott, Wendy, Tyler & Katie. G-pa Randy and G-ma Teresa

  • Wendy and Scott: I had to miss the benefit because I was hosting a family reunion at our house for my husband's dad's family. I felt so badly about missing it. It amazed me to see the pictures.....I want your family to adopt me! They are one awesome team! I feel the love they are extending to both of you, Katie and Tyler.....you are so blessed to have them. I continue to think of you daily and send my love and prayers. I was happy to read you got out a little bit and went out to eat...it has to be so draining sitting there 24/7. Keep the wonderful updates coming...Merry Johnson (Downtown Center)

  • I have to tell you that I saw your little girl on the news last night and my heart sank. To hear stories like this just breaks your heart. A little girl that has barely experienced life shouldn't have to be faced with such a traumatic experience so early. We take for granted the things we are given until something like this happens. I hope that everyone holds their babies closer and loves on them more because you never know what tomorrow will bring. I followed a little girl in Texas last year that was suffering from cancer and she touched my heart in ways I didn't know possible.

Your angel is such a beautiful girl. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May you find the strength to get through this together.

  • Hey Scott, Wendy, and family! Just a note to let you know that many, many prayers are still being lifted up from Arizona on Kaitlyn and ALL of your behalf! I know how precious she is to you, and even more precious to her heavenly Father! I pray that as you are all being bathed in prayer, you will know how it feels to be held in the arms of your Father! Keep your bibles close and remember to always speak to its author before you open its pages, that He would use His word to truly speak to your hearts! I love you with all my heart! Aunt Diana

Sender: Uncle Dave

  • In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. Jesus (John 16:33) Today's sermon was on this important instruction Jesus gave us, and I thought about Kaitlyn. Remember to tell her these things as she grows up. There are so many people you don't know that are praying for you! I am sure God has heard our prayers and has acted in our favor. Thanks be to Him forever and ever!

Sender: Sharon Nolan

  • Katie, I am a friend of your Grandma and Grandpa Markham. You don't know him, but my husband Tom was a man who loved his grandchildren. You are Loved! Sharon Nolan

  • Wendy and Scott: The web site that is set up for Katie is just amazingly wonderful! I read it daily and sometimes more than once a day. I am so happy it is available and that you are so detailed with the daily progress of your little angel. She is amazing...her progress is just terrific, I am not sure if I get more goose bumps or tears as I read the updates! We miss you at the office, Wendy! I think of you dozens of times a day and promise to stop again if I get back to Omaha any time soon. In the mean time, I will continue to send my prayers to your entire family. I know this has impacted EVERYONE very deeply. You are so blessed to have such a wonderful support system of family and friends. That has to lift the burden for you just a little. I will keep Tyler in my prayers also.....I know it is a very tough time for him. Be patient with him, he will be fine.....this crisis will take a tole on each of you in many ways. Continue to be strong and take care of yourselves... Tickle Katie's feet for me!!! More soon....Merry Johnson P.S. I think you should have a note posted on this web site with the bank information of where to send or deliver contributions if people are unable to attend the fund raiser Sunday.....I saw it in the paper once but haven't seen anything since.......God Bless You All

  • It’s funny how God speaks to us in our time of need. This week’s Joyce Meyer Ministries is on “Faith.” She talks about how God’s ways are not the ways of the world. We want to “see” before we “believe,” but God asks us to be faithful and “believe” before we are able to “see.” She also spoke about how God tells us to go “boldly” to the throne with our prayers. I heard the message and I would like you all to join me in going “boldly” to our Lord and asking for complete healing for our Katie. God promises “All things are possible to him who believes.”

“God is able to do abundantly, exceedingly above all we can hope, ask, or think.” We have been witness to that daily over the past two weeks. Katie was initially in very critical condition and the doctors gathered the family to discuss decisions that may need to be made if her condition continued to deteriorate and she required a respirator. Within forty-eight hours following that devastating conversation, her condition miraculously improved. We have continued to observe the power of prayer and God’s hand at work in this little angel’s daily progress.

God says he will work all things out for our good and I believe that with all my heart. I have personally been blessed through this tragedy in that I became Katie’s godmother in the hospital, have had the privilege of spending more time with Tyler (who I adore), observed what awesome parents Wendy and Scott are, the strength of their friendships, the love of their family, and the compassion of strangers. It has deepened my faith and forever changed the way I look at life. Today is a gift…that’s why it’s called the “present.” Please continue to pray and thank you soooo much for your support of Wendy, Scott, Katie and Tyler. I love you guys and I am here whenever you need me…always and forever! Love, Aunt Colleen XO

  • "A little sparrow cannot fall, unnoticed, Lord, by Thee; and though I am so young and small, you take good care of me." God's arms continue to embrace little Katie, firmly to secure and gently to release. Together they will take each turn with a renewed sense of love and trial, more beautiful from within and stronger from without. How blessed Katie and Tyler are to have such spiritual, caring and devoted parents. Let those who love you take care of you, too. All the Camerons will be prayed for by two additional churches this week. Blessings.

  • We wouldn't enjoy the sunshine, if we never had the rain. We wouldn't appreciate good health if we never experienced pain. If we never shed a teardrop and always wore a smile, we'd all get tired of laughing after we had grinned awhile. Everything is by comparison ... both the bitter and the sweet, and it takes a bit of both of them to make our lives complete.

We all find ourselves in the valley of despair sometimes. It may sometimes seem that we are forever worrying, learning lessons, suffering pain, and facing challenges. But we must try to remember that the fertilizer that helps us "grow" is in those valleys, not on the mountain tops. During the times that we feel scared and confused, we will always end up wiser and we will grow more from the experiences. We will understand more about people and life, become more sensitive, and we'll be able to enjoy life more after we go through the hard times. We have to experience sadness so that we may better measure joy. Life has a way of balancing the sorrow with the joy, the disappointments with the hope, and the emptiness with the meaning.

  • Everyone knows that children are God's gift to us. We thank God for little girls, we thank God for the angels that watch over us and we thank God for each day we have with our family. Today we thank God for the strength of a child. Katie has been through more then any adult can handle and at times when you look at her beautiful little face you can see her smiling. Katie knows that we are all praying for her she feels the strength of God. I believe that she is going to get show us all. It is a wonderful feeling to see that strangers come together at a time of need and ask our father for help for one child. Please keep praying for Katie and her family. God Bless!

  • A prayer from Grandma & Grandpa to Katie. You are the strength of our family now. you have shown all of us your remarkable endurance in the face of illness and yet you keep fighting back as you should. your strength is not measured in muscle power but in your will to your family to overcome this event in your life. prayers do work, miracles do happen and there is no question that you are part of that special favor that god creates for special people like you. fight like a soldier, act like an angel, show us more signs of improvement and most of all, admire your beautiful family that will never give up hope on you

In all the wisdom of a 9 year old, one of my students answered, "because it makes them (prayers) stronger". in the spirit of making our prayers for Kaitlyn stronger, we will be saying a prayer for her at our Empower youth group for middle and high school this Wednesday night. God's great and glorious blessings to you for hope and perseverance.  Rita
